A community rooted in connection and care
The Nigerian Community Greater Manchester (NCGM) serves Nigerians and friends of Nigeria across the region. We foster cultural unity and support for all through community programmes and collaboration with the Nigeria High Commission.
Our work is guided by leadership and a shared vision — promoting cultural heritage, strengthening community bonds, and enhancing opportunities for growth and development for everyone who calls Greater Manchester home.
80 years of community in Greater Manchester
Nigerian Community Greater Manchester has served the Nigerian community since 1945 – over 80 years of continuous activity supporting Nigerians and friends of Nigeria across Greater Manchester. Registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with the Charity Commission (No. 1186245), NCGM continues this long-standing tradition of community, culture and care today.
What we are here to do
NCGM exists to relieve poverty, distress, and hardship within our community; to support those affected by age, ill health, disability, or unemployment; to promote Nigerian art, culture and heritage for the public benefit; and to advance education in Nigerian culture and language. These are our registered charitable objects, as filed with the Charity Commission (No. 1186245).
