Finding Nigeria House
Where we are
NCGM is based at Nigeria House, 23 Platt Lane, Manchester, M14 5NE. The building sits in Rusholme, close to Platt Fields Park and within easy reach of Wilmslow Road and the city centre by bus.
Nigeria House is more than an office. It is where the Elders & Friends Luncheon Club meets, where general meetings are held, and where cultural celebrations such as Independence Day take place. If you are new to Manchester and looking for a first point of contact with the Nigerian community here, this is it.
Before you visit
Nigeria House is run by volunteers, so the building is not staffed continuously. Please email or call ahead to confirm that someone will be there and to arrange a time. That way we can make sure the right person is available to help you.
Who to contact
General enquiries, membership and programmes — email enquiries@ncgm.org.uk. This reaches the committee and is the best route for most questions.
Chairman — +44 7455 133795. For partnership approaches, press enquiries and matters concerning NCGM’s wider representation of the community.
Secretary — +44 7455 124437. For meeting dates, membership records, and Elders & Friends Luncheon Club arrangements.
We are a volunteer-run organisation and answer messages as quickly as we are able. If your enquiry is urgent, a phone call will usually reach us sooner than email.
What people usually ask us about
Most enquiries fall into a few categories: becoming a member of NCGM, attending or bringing an older relative to the Luncheon Club, volunteering at events, support with a hardship or bereavement, working with us as a council or charity partner, and consular questions relating to the Nigeria High Commission. If your question falls outside these, write to us anyway — if we cannot help directly we will usually know who can.
