Social Support (Fair Share)
Fair Share is NCGM’s own weekly food redistribution programme — not a franchise of any external charity, but a community-led response built and run entirely by our own volunteers. Every week, volunteers collect surplus food and coordinate its distribution to households across Greater Manchester’s Nigerian community and beyond, at a moment when the cost of living continues to place real, sustained pressure on family budgets.
How Fair Share works
The mechanics are simple and consistent: a rotation of volunteers collects surplus stock, sorts it, and gets it into the hands of the households who need it before the week is out. This currently reaches approximately 30 households on a weekly basis — a figure we state honestly as an estimate rather than a precise headcount, because the people behind Fair Share are focused on getting food to families, not running a spreadsheet.

Relieving hardship, week by week
Fair Share exists because NCGM’s charitable purpose is not abstract. It is one of the clearest, most direct expressions of our registered object to relieve poverty, distress and financial hardship — delivered weekly, without fanfare, by our own community for our own community.
